Within just a few weeks, the Shenandoah has gone from nearly dry to severe flooding. Submerged trees after the rain this weekend, and the level’s still rising. 

A couple of hours spent at a local winery with friends, one of whom is a member, and got us all free tastings. Just as well, since a bottle of red was $72!

Free work lunch today at a local restaurant. The food was great, but not this monstrous light above our table, which I couldn’t stop staring at.

This diner in Winchester has become more famous since it closed than when it was open. All the locals keep an eye on it, everyone wondering if it will ever open again. There have been reports of people going in. There was a light on inside as I passed by.

Incredible how this sweet William has survived through ice and snow. Hoping I can get seeds from it.

5” of snow won’t keep me in on a Friday night. A stop at the Beer Museum and then hanging out with the crew at the tavern.

I went to another paint workshop in town and we all painted this snow scene. We actually had a little snow today, wish it had been as much as in the painting.

No production at work today. One of the huge gas dryers had to be moved 1ft to allow another press to be set up between them. A huge job, moving the complete unit as a whole, and removing all exhaust vents, that will need to be reseated. It hasn’t moved in 20 years, and was all hands on deck to get it done.

I couldn’t get through to my house, due to a car accident on this road. No idea how that happened when the speed limit is 25mph, but I made it home through the back alleys.

Very slow at work. The reception area, usually stacked high with boxes is empty. It will pick up next month.

My friend Bill, gave me this wonderful collection of British beer mats. It’s his Birthday, and I got him a vintage book on Lewis and Clark.

Love this embroidery we’re doing for a client this week.

This gorgeous old car has been sitting in town for a few months now. I hope I’ll see it running one day, and love the paintwork.

Getting back to work was made a bit easier by Joshua having a Birthday, so free lunch and cake. Yay!

This place, just down the road from my house, won the best business Christmas decorations prize in town. It is definitely original and looks even more impressive class up.
