My book arrived written by Mr Stanley from the tank museum open day. The soldier on the front cover is him also so I'm hoping it will be a good read.

Amazingly I still have a little straggler who's refusing to head south even in this rain and high winds. I've been watching her and worrying all evening, hoping she will fly and join the others soon, or I'll be having to house her over the winter.

The Indian Bean flowers look beautiful with their dripping raindrops. We need this rain but flooding warnings have been given, it's going to rain and storm all night.

Captured on the drive home, a dog bounding from the right across the sky.

Monday, September 26, 2016

It may have been a little chilly and breezy at the park this evening but I was still very surprised to find that I had the whole place to myself.

At the Tank Museum in Nokesville. Reenactments, guys in uniform and lots and lots of tanks. Awesome!

Friday, September 23, 2016

At WINC FM's radio station picking up my prize that I won on the radio yesterday morning.

Thursday, September 22, 2016

Silverlake Park after work.  I was here to mostly to try and remain upright while attempting to run the trails. I succeeded!

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

The old blue truck down the road is looking gorgeous in the golden rod field. I even took the big camera to take a few shots.

Monday, September 19, 2016

Back for my monthly manipulation and to catch up on the local gossip. We're going to have a classic car storage unit at the old IGA shop apparently.

Sunday, September 18, 2016

I spent a couple of hours cycling around Airlie this afternoon to clear my head from yesterday's partying. I found their community garden and an abandoned road that I think was supposed to be closed but I cycled to the end and back regardless. I only cycled about 5 miles on the roads and over grass but with some walking included I definitely felt a lot better afterwards.

Target are stocking very cool Halloween decorations including these scary skulls which were about 15" high. No room in my little house for them though!

Thursday, September 15, 2015

Early morning drive to work. One view to the east and the other to the west. Beautiful.

While I like the imagination gone into creating a tractor out of merchandise at Walmart, I wish they'd choose a different color theme instead of John Deere every year. Why not reds to make a Farmall or better yet, yellows and reds to make a Minneapolis Moline?

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Yesterday I dropped by the farm on my way home for eggs, but no luck. The chickens, due to the heat, had only laid three. So I paid up front for a dozen and a promised phone call from the farm when they were ready. They called me before noon and sure enough, when I arrived back at the farm, there were 12 butt nuggets in a box. Various sizes and colors but those little peckers had been busy for me, bless them. Unfortunately, a guy came in after me, also wanting eggs, but there were none to spare. I felt kind of special as I strutted back to the car, carrying my precious cargo, and stopped to say thanks to my cooperative cluckers.

Loving my beautiful patio 'screen'. So lush with all the humidity we've had.

Sunday, September 11, 2016

Underground at Dupont Circle looking through an art installation of plastic balls.

Another beautiful morning with mist rising from the fields.

Friday, September 9, 2016

Celebrating Jason's birthday at the Right Proper Brewing Company in DC. The bathroom had a piano in it which kind of shed a new light on the term, 'going for a tinkle'. I have to admit I did bash a few keys while I was using the facility.

Rosie Lee at dusk on the patio table.

Wednesday, September 7, 2016

We had a very heavy storm with buckets of rain so no need for watering in the evening. All my pepper plants have new fruit growing but my tomatoes are finishing. Summer is ending.

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

I brought home some Maine acorns as a treat for Sebastion. Hope he enjoys them!

Monday, September 5, 2016

Flying over Massachusetts on my way home from Maine. Sad to end a fabulous weekend but ever grateful to Emily for this amazing weekend.

Sunday, September 4, 2016

Enjoying gin and tonics in Emily's aunt's gazebo as the sun sets over the cove.

Saturday, September 3, 2016

Margie and Emily at Cape Elizabeth, an amazing rock beach with rock pools and a light house.

Friday, September 2, 2016

Saw these awesome grollies in a shop window at Portsmouth, NH with Emily and Margie. Don't know anyone who could fill these as well as shown here so didn't buy them. Shame.

How sad that this little yarn and wool shop is closing down in The Plains. Mum will be upset, she loved it in there. God forbid we get yet another bloody posh grub shop or restaurant.
