So sweet to see this sign along Zulla Rd when I drive to work. And although I’m doing the speed limit I do slow down further, hoping to see an orange bundle of fluff.

Saturday, April 28, 2018

Little Rosie Lee has decided that this chair, which has always been out of bounds, will be her new favorite spot. Guess I have to give in.

Friday, April 27, 2018

The last bare branches are slowly being blanketed in tiny fresh green buds, exploding across the countryside. Another week and our trees will be fully in leaf.

Thursday, April 26, 2018

Color coordinated today in what I’m realizing is one of my favorite hues.

Wednesday, April 25, 2018

I love watching the gradual progression of the leaves opening on the trees. It won’t be long until this tulip tree has it’s orange and lemon flowers.

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

A crappy horrible day of rain, with another forecast tomorrow. Where did our Spring go?

Monday, April 23, 2018

I received a package from Mum. Treats for Rosie Lee and tea bags as well as these fabulous salts. I tried the seaweed one with salmon for dinner. Very tasty!

Sunday, April 22, 2018

A lovely morning to repot some houseplants while waiting for Emily and Rob to arrive.

Saturday, April 21, 2018

Took the Green Genie to my local bike shop to solve a pedal issue. The guy took my bike out for a spin and took ages. He apologized on his return, saying it was a lovely ride. While I was waiting I admired this fabulous ‘shelf’ made from an old Bianchi.

Friday, April 20, 2018

April took a great photo of me holding my beer at our local brewery. The beer looked better than it tasted, it was bland and flavorless. But the company was superb, great to be out with friends I hadn’t seen for a while.

Thursday, April 19, 2018

I’m always drawn to this rock crushing plant that I sometimes pass on the way to work. The early dawn light seemed ethereal this morning as I sped past and I had to snap a photo.

Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Ive been waiting weeks to see these beautiful little flowers lining each side of my path. Spring is finally here!

Tuesday, April 17, 2018

An amazing sky this morning heading towards work. Spectacular but it somehow looked angry too.

Monday, April 16, 2018

This is my sign of Spring, the dogwoods finally beginning to bloom at Meadow House.

Sunday, April 15, 2018

Traction engine levers pointing up to a stormy sky. Do I know how to operate all these? Yes I do!

Saturday, April 14, 2018

Spent a day with these huge beasts, learning all about them. And got sunburnt, even through the black grime I was covered in!

Friday, April 13, 2018

I think Sprung may finally be here to stay, so it was time for Stanley to have a clean. Inside the car wash at Warrenton.

Thursday, April 12, 2018

Joe’s 50th birthday party at work, wearing Jose’s $600 sombrero from Mexico. We’re all getting old!

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

11 Apr 2018

About to set off on a cherry blossom ride with Jason and Nancy plus about 200 other riders in DC. My bike was lit up ready for the music that would accompany us.

Monday, April 9, 2018

The pretty farm from where I get the best horseradish cheddar from. I love this view.

Sunday, April 8, 2018

This little garter snake was in the middle of the path when Emily and I went for a short hike. He didn’t move at all despite all the photos being taken of him.

Saturday, April 7, 2018

The John Barton Payne memorial in Orlean. He was a local lawyer and politician and this huge obelisk caused a local stir, delivered to Marshall by rail, and then dragged slowly on a cart along Crest Hill Rd on its way to the cemetery, often accompanied by curious locals during its journey.

Friday, April 6, 2018

My little boy came home today. I wasn’t expecting a beautiful box or so many cards. It warms me to think that Kota Kat Supreme was regarded so fondly.

Thursday, April 5, 2018

Finally picked up my lantern that I made at Big Dog Pots. Not bad for first attempt at fusing glass.

Wednesday, April 4, 2018

An abandoned barn with a sunshine yellow screen of forsythia on my way home from work. I hope these beautiful blooms survive the snowstorm due this weekend.

Tuesday, April 3, 2018

The pear blossoms at work are in full bloom with a bird feeder in place, looked after by one of the maintenance guys, and a nest already built. But we’re expecting 3-5” of snow on Saturday which may endanger all this. How depressing.

Monday, April 2, 2018

Saw this just a short distance from home. Made me look twice, kind of cool.

Sunday, April 1, 2018

I spent a wonderful afternoon with an old friend at his and his girlfriend’s incredible old house where he was having a Ham & Lamb Easter event. He cooked the lamb outside, it was amazing. Met some fabulous people. A much needed relaxing and fun few hours.
