We took the car to the local hand wash car centre run by new European immigrants. They did a wonderful job but we had to laugh at their Christmas tree in the waiting room. Not a single light or decoration to be seen. Mum and I had never seen a bare Christmas tree before!

The notice board in West Moor's local coffee shop sporting an ASBO for a local guy. It made me smile seeing such a public humiliation, a bit like being thrown in the gallows.

Mum snaffling some of the best bacon in Sainsburys. It all looked good to me after having been used to the rubbish bacon in America.

Our little Christmas tree on Christmad Day. Aaaw!

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

Found this really cool Christmas robot wrapping paper today to wrap presents  for a couple of guy friends.

Monday, December 22, 2014

An amazing selection of things to watch, so plenty to keep me amused on the flight. Next post from England!

Sunday, December 21, 2014

Packed and raring to go. This time tomorrow, I'll be fast asleep at Mum's house.

Saturday, December 20, 2014

My only Christmas decoration here at Meadow House. I'm taking some to Mum's house but it will be a nice change not to have to take down decorations in the new year when I come home.

Friday, December 19, 2014

Leaving my desk with everything done! No outstanding work and no jobs to pass on to anyone else. Vacation time for nearly 3 weeks. Woo hoo!

Thursday, December 18, 2014

At our DCUE social meet up, the last I'll see if this crew until next year. A fun evening but didn't get home until 12:15 am so have really been dragging today.

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Guess this Christmas present in Middleburg won't fit under anyone's tree!

The upholstery store window in Marshall. Just love that chair, looks so inviting.

Saturday, December 13, 2014

Down at Arlington National Cemetery with Rob laying Christmas wreaths.

Friday, December 12, 2014

Digging the Christmas tree at Joe's in Marshall where we had dinner tonight.

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Couldn't believe I saw this in Walmart last night. Do the guys think if they sit in this, the missus won't see them?

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

First ice storm this season and my ice scraper was in the trunk which was iced shut. Had to use an egg slice to break up the ice on my car windows!

Monday, December 8, 2014

Part of my Secret Santa gift from work. Fun for a few minutes but don't think they'll be sticking around for too long!

Sunday, December 7, 2014

It was nice to be hauled away from work this afternoon for a short hike and dinner at The Hunters Head.

Saturday, December 6, 2014

A wet rainy day today with heavy fog. Some errands were run but the day was spent mainly relaxing after a manic week.

Friday, December 5, 2015

The Game Truck was a big hit with the kids at the Emblemax Christmas Party. Loved the leather sofas!

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

The moon, shining through the bare branches, is looking like it's caught in a spider's web.

Tuesday, December 2, 2014

Waiting for an animated card to finish rendering in Photoshop. Thank God I'm not doing this on my lap top!

Monday, December 1, 2014

Forgot to post my delicious lunch yesterday. It's only taken me 15 years but now I love Sushi. Sure wish I'd had it today for lunch too, beats the 2 yoghurts I had...

Sunday, November 30, 2014

Whatever I'm doing Kota Kat always has one ear listening, just in case there's a teeny chance that the cupboard door may open and then a treat bag rustle.

Friday, November 28, 2014

Cocktails were plentiful and the company was exquisite, we had a lot of fun at Laurie's birthday partly, and the best part was that the venue was on the other side of the hill, so I only had to stagger to my front door at the end of the evening.

Thursday, November 27, 2014

The most delicious pecan pie ever. Gobbled down at the Wayside Inn where Janice and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving lunch.

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

First snow of the winter and we got about 3". I had to take 4 attempts to get up the hill.

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Loved these lights against the evening sky on the way home last night.

Sunday, November 23, 2014

The knitting shop in The Plains have knitted a fabulous jacket for the tree outside. Love it!

Saturday, November 22, 2014

A Christmas cat with a candle headpiece at a curio store that Janice and I photographed this afternoon.

Thursday, November 20, 2014

This interesting little face was peering down at me from the workshop wall this morning while Stuart was getting a new battery installed.

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Managed to snap this shot without them realizing. How cute!

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

Bare trees against the setting sun on the way home from work.

Sunday, November 16, 2014

Took a Photoshop class at the Nature Visions Expo but didn't really learn a lot. But it was nice to spend some time with friends.

Saturday, November 15, 2014

Our lunch being made today, homemade beef and veggie soup with grilled cheese sandwiches that would be served once we'd finished exploring an old train yard.

Friday, November 14, 2014

These ugly monstrosities have been erected on the outskirts of Marshall, with more on the way. Ugh!

Thursday, November 13, 2014

On Rte 50 where the countryside ends and where construction begins. Ugly construction sites have devoured pretty fields for the next 5 miles.

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Hard to get creative with the daily photo when I'm stuck lying on my back but I played around with an image of my fireplace and shelf.

Monday, November 10, 2014

My back went early this morning so the day spent laying down, unable to sit, and Rosie Lee perched on me for most of the day. Kota was a little more considerate and sat on the back of the sofa looking down on me.

Sunday, November 9, 2014

Waiting for my acorn squash to cook. I don't like savory things made sweet so no sugar for mine. These are cooking with a smear of hazelnut oil, garlic, sage and thyme, then will be sprinkled with grated sharp cheddar, sea salt and coarse pepper when they emerge. My mouth is watering while writing this!
