A fanflower resting on the old bedstead underneath the kitchen window.

A bumblebee loading up with pollen from the wild geraniums.

Elliott dug these 2 gate post holes, over 2ft deep. A superb job, I couldn’t have done better myself!

Saturday, May 27, 2023

I saw a flash of color behind a hedge on my way to Berryville and backed to see this gorgeous wildflower meadow.

Friday, May 26, 2023

The miniature red hot pokers in the canoe are coming into bloom.

Wednesday, May 24, 2023

A couple of young deers wanting entry to the cemetery, but they’re too early at 6:15am. The gates open at 7am. They wandered off down the road after waiting a few minutes.

Tuesday, May 23, 2023

Elliott received a very well earned reward at work today for his outstanding performance as a Top Gun. Go Elliott!

Monday, May 22, 2023

The Blue House garden is starting to come together. Just want everything to grow!

Sunday, May 21, 2023

A day of painting. Finished the camper, the water butt and 3 chairs. These are 2 retro chairs that I picked up for $25! They need another coat, and then that table will get painted too.

Saturday, May 20, 2023

An Audacious Jumping Spider, sitting on the railing in the garden. This one is male, the females have pinkish fangs. What a good looking chap, and he was happy to pose for a photo.

Friday, May 19, 2023

A bakery local to work has these attractive cookies, but using food colorings that are banned in Europe, that could exacerbate attentional issues in children. But they make a superb sandwich and cakes.

Thursday, May 18, 2023

An old spider web hangs valiantly on the cemetery gates, despite the strong breezes.

Wednesday, May 17, 2023

I love this little mouse I found at a garden center last year. He was hidden under plant leaves in the garden during the summer, but this year he deserves to be seen.

Tuesday, May 16, 2023

It’s so cute how Rosie Lee always curls her tail around. She’s such a tidy little cat.

Monday, May 15, 2023

I saw this huge rabbit at the garden center, on the way home, and was scratching my head, wondering what it meant. Then I found out that today is Peace Officers Memorial Day. I’d never heard of that until today.

Sunday, May 14, 2023

My latest addition to the pond, an iron heron. Love the simple lines.

Saturday, May 13, 2023

Driving back home after picking up a couple of vintage patio chairs, and I saw this. Superman lives in Maurertown, VA!

Friday, May 12, 2023

The heather is beginning to bloom, and the scent is wonderful.

Thursday, May 11, 2023

Driving into the early morning sun as I take Stanley back to Hyundai, with starting issues. They found nothing wrong, but somehow the issue had been resolved, and at no charge. Works for me!

Wednesday, May 10, 2023

The irises are beginning to bloom. Still some other colors to pop out, but the neighbors have begun their compliments as they drive by!

Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Joining Rte 66, on the way to work, with fog hanging overhead after a night of heavy rain.

Monday, May 8, 2023

Up until a couple of years ago, I would occasionally take this back road, loving it, because it was a little known unpaved lane, with potholes, that people didn’t know about. But today I drove down it, finding it was recently paved, and unable to dawdle, because I soon had 3 other cars behind me, wanting to rush through. So sad that it’s now become a morning racetrack, and I feel bad for the residents, having lost their peace.

Sunday, May 7, 2023

I painted one side of the camper last night and today. Just need to use a fine brush around the window to finish this side. I had to get this done so I could lean the ladder against it as the sweet peas are ready to climb upwards. These were winter sown sweet peas so I don’t have to worry about any chilly nights, they’re hardy, and will be fine.

Saturday, May 6, 2023

Up at dark o’clock this morning to watch my King’s Coronation and pledge my allegiance. What a phenomenal and joyous ceremony. I sat with a big pot of Yorkshire loose leaf tea and loved seeing so much British patriotism. A wonderful morning.

Thursday, May 4, 2023

It’s lovely to see the pond coming back to life. I look forward to this every year.

Wednesday, May 3, 2023

Our local guy who likes to spread the word is back again, and I kind of agree with him.

Tuesday, May 2, 2023

Great Wall art on a shop in Edinburg, where I picked up a table for the back deck.

Monday, May 1, 2023

An old Porsche, looking like it hasn’t been driven in years, by a winery on the way home.
