I ‘crutched it’ down the drive to meet Elliott who was locking the cemetery gates, a part time job we’ve been asked to do. I will likely do this more often now as going up and down the hill felt really good on my knee.

And the medical issues continue, today having an ultrasound after a mammogram. But issues that had appeared 6 months ago are no longer evident, so I’m very thankful for the good news.

I love the way mint goes to seed after flowering. The green seed pods remind me of moss covered tree roots in an English forest.

We have so many of these beautiful pollinators in the garden, swarms of them enjoying the flowers we’ve planted, and it’s wonderful to enjoy seeing one close up and frozen in time while it was busy working. Meet the Great Black Wasp.

My first PT session after surgery went well. Having ice and electric treatment here. Hopefully soon, as my mobility increases, I’ll be able to post photos other than my poor knee!

26 Aug 2021

I have to raise my leg higher than this, which is very painful, and I simply can’t do it all the time because of that. On a good note, Doc increased my meds since the dosage simply wasn’t working.

At home and enduring really bad pain. It was hard to smile for this photo.

24 Aug 2021

Showing the nurse I can walk on crutches or a walker after my partial knee replacement. I had to do this to be allowed home.

23 Aug 2021

New cat food for Rosie Lee and Tricksie Treat. A mixed reaction so far but we’ll keep giving it to them as it’s good quality.

Sunday, August 22, 2021

After catching 6 groundhogs, we’re still having them trying to enter our back garden. So we’ve stepped up our game. Elliott filled the hole with yards of barbed wire and placed a giant rock on top. And now we wait.

A cool lichen on our walk around Lake Sherando.

My lovely Birthday flowers from Elliott are past their prime, but still look beautiful by the bedside lamp.

Thursday, August 19, 2021

At a paint class tonight in FroRo, learning to use a palette knife. My effort of a butterfly is on the far left. Hmmm.

Wednesday, August 18, 2021

I was blown away with this incredible gift from my friend Pam. A wooden canoe filled with Sansevieria plants and mosses and stones. Absolutely beautiful!

Tuesday, August 17, 2021

Rosie Liscious Lee looking inside the fridge for the first time ever. I think she spied the pile of English chocolate in there…

The lid from my Marmite pot looks a little concerned that the jar is nearly finished, poor thing.

Driving home, with Elliott in his car behind me, after selling stuff at the Rte 11 Yard Crawl. Showcasing my fab bracelets, made from antique vehicles from the 60’s and 70’s, from my awesome boyfriend.

This beautiful wine glass was one of my prezzies from my bestie in England.

Our neighbor’s kid’s trampoline, with a few inches of water. These kids love playing outside, you never see them with phones or video games. We really needed the rain but I hope the trampoline dries out so the kids can bounce again.

Tricksie Treat and Rosie Lee hanging out together, and looking gorgeous.

Thursday, August 5, 2021

We crossed this railroad track on our bike ride this evening around town. This will one day be the start of a cycling/walking path that will run down the Shenandoah valley.

Wednesday, August 4, 2021

You always know you’re in a proper country store when you see jars like this on the shelves.

Tuesday, August 3, 2021

I picked up a new addition for the garden on the way home from work. A blue bike for the Blue House, and next year that basket will be filled with flowers.

2 Aug 2021

Elliott and I saw this yesterday evening and were in awe. A rare sighting of Hummingbird Moths mating in our front garden.

One of the huge floats from the Celebration on Parade exhibition that I showed Elliott today.
