We enjoyed a lazy day today, relaxing indoors and out on the patio, relishing the plants growing and each other’s company.

Sunday, May 30, 2021

Exploring an abandoned power plant in OH for most of the day, then a 6 hour drive home.

Saturday, May 29, 2021

Great to be exploring again with Urbexia. At an abandoned munitions plant in PA.

Friday, May 28, 2021

That there on the right is a pillion pup, looking over his dad’s shoulder, and traveling at 75mph. He seemed to be enjoying himself too.

Thursday, May 27, 2021

Had a cancerous chunk cut out of my left cheek today. Fingers crossed that’s the end of it.

Wednesday, May 26, 2021

I liked the mask artwork on the back of this truck that I passed today.

Tuesday, May 25, 2021

Elliott took this photo of my deer who has finally returned and taken her place under the weeping cherry tree. I hadn’t seen her for months and was worried that she’d perished over the winter. But here, she looks very healthy, and I’m so happy she’s back.

Monday, May 24, 2021

One work day done and we celebrated with a watermelon margarita on the front porch.

Sunday, May 23, 2021

Elliott and I cycled 26.5 miles today, enjoying the quiet of the trail, seeing and hearing cicadas and helping a baby turtle across the trail. We didn’t see any of these falling squares though…

Saturday, May 22, 2021

We defied the rain forecast and sat in front of the fire pit with beers and snacks. The rain never came.

Friday, May 21, 2021

Elliott’s spent the last two days pulling and tugging ivy from the back garden that had grown up over the fence, down over the beds and then down the wall. This area will be filled with shade loving ferns and other plants, with native wisteria, honeysuckle and trumpet vines growing up the fence.

Thursday, May 20, 2021

I loved this wooden crate filled with flowers and a couple of ornaments, but wasn’t going to pay $65 for it. I can make one myself.

Wednesday, May 19, 2021

A scraper used on the production floor to remove ink from screens. Love the unintentional ‘art’ display.

Tuesday, May 18, 2021

We found a song sparrow nest in the grasses as we were clearing out the back of the garden. The egg was empty with a small hole in it, so a predator bird must have helped himself to an easy meal.

Monday, May 17, 2021

Sunday, May 16, 2021

Mexican for Sunday dinner. Tilapia with mango salsa and the usual rice and avocado. Not bad but Elliott had to finish it.

Saturday, May 15, 2021

Elliott taking photos in the Chinese garden at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley.

Friday, May 14, 2021

Stormy clouds filled the sky as Elliott and I drove to a rural brewery for a celebratory pint after our second vaccines.

Elluott may not be a Queen but he’s definitely Lord of Everything.

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

A few of my beautiful irises showing off their vibrant colors and beards.

Monday, May 10, 2021

A beer delivery at work on a Monday morning can only be a good thing!

Sunday, May 9, 2021

A lovely choker given to me by Elliott’s mom, who made it. Ebony beads with brass discs and a Coptic cross. Paired with matching earrings. Love them!

Saturday, May 8, 2021

Elliott and Bill cutting up branches for our hedges at The Blue House. I mostly watched.

Friday, May 7, 2021

Looking like a medical procedure, this is Stanley getting his oil change., and the first time I’ve ever taken notice of what goes on.

Thursday, May 6, 2021

Dawn starting to shine through the fencing on Manassas Battlefields.

Wednesday, May 5, 2021

I found this glove on the production floor and wondered if it was showing me the way to go or sending another kind of message, depicting the general mood of the staff right now.

Tuesday, May 4, 2021

It’s an arduous commute to and from work, but sometimes I see some beautiful dawns like this one, with morning mist.

Monday, May 3, 2021

So wonderful to see the plant boxes and pots growing profusely. This is a cosmos flower.

Sunday, May 2, 2021

The pond is up and bubbling again for all the local birds and wildlife.

1 May 2020

We went to Wolf Trap Park to follow a Soundwalk on our phones. as we walked around the park, the music changed. It wasn’t impressive but it was nice to hike the 2.3 miles.
