Kayaking on the Shenandoah near home to look at some railroad bridges that I can’t access by land.

Friday, August 30, 2019

I think these are paper wasps. Saw them at a House I viewed with Carmen tonight.

Thursday, August 29, 2019

The grass is cut and the plants are watered. Kota’s tree to the right is doing well. The house looks pretty from the road!

Wednesday, August 28, 2019

Knackered after clearing out all the crab grass from my gravel.

Tuesday, August 27, 2019

I often pass and admire this glass pane. The owner takes it down before the frosts and it goes up again in the spring.

Saturday, August 24, 2019

What a fun afternoon and evening at Bill and Jen’s, where we all helped to make beer. It will be drinkable in about a month.

Friday, August 23, 2019

At The Giving Tree farm store picking up some tasty organic treats for the weekend.

22 Aug 2019

Our pretty little town after the rain as Carmen and I left the restaurant after celebrating her Birthday.

Wednesday, August 21, 2019

I saw this really neat truck gate as I approached home. Zoom in to see the spider on his web in wrought iron.

Tuesday, August 20, 2019

Stormy skies coming into FroRo. I got home just before the heavens opened.

Me and Tricksie Treat waiting for Rosie Lee to come to bed.

Saturday, August 17, 2019

Watching a marathon session of Star Trek Discovery while trying to get rid of a virus. Horizontal polarization and great TV with a glass of red is hopefully the best cure for a cold.

16 Aug 2019

Laid up sick on the sofa for most of the day with Rosie Lee keeping me company.

Thursday, August 15, 2019

One of two monarch butterfly caterpillars on my milkweed. Seeing these made my day, my little pollinator garden area is working.

Wednesday, August 14, 2019

I’ve been watering this big ole plant, thinking it was a pollinator, and discovered it’s actually poisonous poke weed. So now I have to get rid of it. Carefully.

Tuesday, August 13, 2019

Tricksie Treat looking cheekier each week as she settles in. It’s taking time but we’re definitely getting there.

11 Aug 2019

Leaving Dolly Sods to begin the long drive home.

While I was away yellow aphids moved in on my orange milkweed and whorled milkweed. Hopefully a good spray of homemade organic bug killer will rid the plants of these pests.

Saturday, August 10, 2019

Discussing hike options after realizing there wasn’t enough daylight to complete the intended hike.

9 Aug 2019

Afternoon sun on Seneca Rocks as we drive to our camp site at Sprice Knob.

Thursday, August 8, 2019

Dinner was delicious tonight. Chicken breast with everything from the garden, zucchini, tomatoes, Cuban oregano, basil and hot peppers. With some dried herbs, a spoon of mayo mixed in at the end and a peppery cab sav to accompany it, I was in 7th heaven.

7 Aug 2019

Had an amazing birthday and the best came after work when I picked up this huge box from the post office, sent by an old friend who knew exactly what I was missing from the homeland.

6 Aug 2019

Fun by the gazebo in Front Royal despite an evening downpour. They carried on right afterwards.

Monday, August 5, 2019

Coming home from spin class, I was aware, for the first time, of the cobwebs in the ivy in my drive. All the colors of the spectrum caught in the fine strands.

4 Aug 2019

It was great to be out on the water in Big Red, first put in this year.

Friday, August 2, 2019

I posted this and 2 other views on a weird second hand find Facebook page and it blew up. Over 2000 reactions so far and so many comments. I bought it locally for $10.
