Laid up sick on the sofa for most of the day with Rosie Lee keeping me company.

One of two monarch butterfly caterpillars on my milkweed. Seeing these made my day, my little pollinator garden area is working.

I’ve been watering this big ole plant, thinking it was a pollinator, and discovered it’s actually poisonous poke weed. So now I have to get rid of it. Carefully.

Tricksie Treat looking cheekier each week as she settles in. It’s taking time but we’re definitely getting there.

While I was away yellow aphids moved in on my orange milkweed and whorled milkweed. Hopefully a good spray of homemade organic bug killer will rid the plants of these pests.

Afternoon sun on Seneca Rocks as we drive to our camp site at Sprice Knob.

Dinner was delicious tonight. Chicken breast with everything from the garden, zucchini, tomatoes, Cuban oregano, basil and hot peppers. With some dried herbs, a spoon of mayo mixed in at the end and a peppery cab sav to accompany it, I was in 7th heaven.

Fun by the gazebo in Front Royal despite an evening downpour. They carried on right afterwards.

Coming home from spin class, I was aware, for the first time, of the cobwebs in the ivy in my drive. All the colors of the spectrum caught in the fine strands.

It was great to be out on the water in Big Red, first put in this year.
