Found this little chap basking in the evening sun, perched on my patio screen.

The 7/11, where I always buy my gas, is closed for renovations. Looking forward to a speedy fill the next time I'm in there.

I thought this would be one of the last photos of my dearest companion. But he's home from the vets and we're praying for a full recovery.

A picture of perfection. Kota wanted a twilight walk this evening, so we took a slow saunter until it got dark.

Monday, September 25, 2017

Not sure why they were letting off a hydrant in Marshall this morning, but that truck got a good wash.

Sunday, September 24, 2017

The late sun shining through my peacock feathers makes them look unworldly and even a little creepy.

For over a week now, I've been mourning the finish of The Dark Tower saga, wanting to return to Mid World. The best I could do was print a picture on the DTG of Roland at the end of his journey. Then Michelle at work, a fellow Stephen King fan went home at lunch time and returned with a bag of his novels that I haven't yet read. Bless her, they will help for sure.

This large expanse of wild meadow in Marshall is being sought after by the Ford dealership to convert into a tarmac area laden with vehicles. A local environmentalist asked people to write and oppose as plans are also in the pipeline to use this as a community area with paths running through wild flower beds.I obliged with my letter immediately.

A daddy long legs peering over a leaf, likely hoping that I was finished with the hose pipe. There were hoards of these scuttling for cover as I watered the patio plants.

Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Ugh. On my way to my bike ride start on Sunday, a truck threw up a stone which left a crack that has slowly lengthened. Thankfully it will be replaced tomorrow before it drops out when that crack goes all the way across.

Monday, September 18, 2017

The chimney sweeps cleaning my fireplace ready for fall. Looking forward to the first fire of the season.

Sunday, September 17, 2017

We have a little Mexican restaurant in Marshall that I'd never been in, so Steve joined me there for dinner. We both had fajitas which were superb, and everyone else's food looks fab too. El Agave will have us eating there again for sure, and it was packed when we left.

Emily and I made short work of cleaning her steps, which were originally green with moss and algae. The power washer worked superbly, especially at transferring the gunk from the steps on to us!

Friday, September 15, 2017

I came home to find my bowl returned, that I'd left at Maggi's with potatoes in it, on my doorstep with pears from her trees. The package was for the cats. Frontline. They weren't as delighted with their gift as I was with mine!

Thursday, September 14, 2017

I have a lot of respect for this organization and others like it who have been working tirelessly to help displaced animals during the recent storms. This guy was driving very carefully down I66, likely carrying a precious cargo. Safe travels!

Love these patterns. Looking down on the throw on my sofa and the rug below it.

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Nearing the end of a spin off tale from The Dark Tower saga. These 8 books have kept me gripped for 2 months, immersed in another world with extraordinary characters, going to bed early and rushing home from events so I could read. There will be a void in my daily routine when I'm done.

Monday, September 11, 2017

I dug up about 5lbs of potatoes this evening. Enough to share with Maggi and still have enough for a few meals.

Sunday, September 10, 2017

Stepping back in time with Rob at a steam fair near Gordonsville, and watching traction engines ploughing a field.

Saturday, September 9, 2017

Steve and I stopped to admire this view over a quarry on our bike ride today. 33 miles, we going further each week.

Friday, September 8, 2017

An open road for me, but it makes me think of the poor souls grid locked on roads trying to escape Florida and the incoming hurricanes.

Thursday, September 7, 2017

Had to wait 5 weeks for these cute little dinosaur earrings to be made and shipped from China, but for the price I couldn't complain. Hand made and really light, can't wait to wear them to work!

Wednesday, September 6, 2017

Orange has always been my favorite color but it wasn't until this morning when I realized how much of it I'd accumulated on my desk. Lovely!

Tuesday, September 5, 2017

The sunflower heads have lost their petals now and even look a little creepy in the night light. Reminding me that Halloween isn't far away.

Monday, September 4, 2017

I'd love to know what was going through Kota's head as he looked down on a sleeping Rosie Lee!

Sunday, September 3, 2017

The Mexican version of a Vietnamese sandwich, a Banh-Mi. Not one I'd order again but it was tasty albeit small. Next time I'll order the same as Marc and Steve, the breakfast burrito.

Saturday, September 2, 2017

The best way to spend a rainy Saturday, snuggled up with the cats, watching movies and reading.

Finishing the work week with Steve and Marc at an old haunt in Centreville.
