Makes me sad to see all these beautiful pines chopped down near home. 3 homes who had lines of these noble trees fronting their properties had them all felled to give the power lines more clearance. A tragic sight I have to pass twice daily.

Setting off on our daily hike and Kota’s excited, yelling, “Out of my way, Mom, we need to get going!”

I’m currently unable to get my Builders tea bags online but I’m actually not worried. I’ve returned to making tea properly in a tea pot with proper loose tea and my dear Nan’s homemade tea cozy. And the tea was devine. And I get 2 large mugs out of my teapot. Win win!

I was very pleased with my beef and sauasage pie that I made today. Have to say the pastry was delicious!

After a fun day of exploring in Philly, we dropped into a brewery that had some interesting beers and odd artwork. This was on the wall. The scariest cat I’ve ever seen...

I’ve never been an avid selfie taker but I do like the new portrait mode on my phone.

Homemade cauliflower and chickpea soup with herbs and grated cheddar. Great for a rainy day.

Great weather while out in the fields with Kota. Really warm with sunny blue skies while heavy dark clouds were swept in by strong winds. And so many wild chives growing, I have to pot some of those.

I picked up my one surviving pot from our pottery class. The lopsided one didn’t survive the firing but this one came through OK. Just have to find a use for it now.

Testing my new phone by trying to find a cool low light image in the house. I spotted this on my urbexing gallery wall: a little too authentic but I just couldn’t brush those cobwebs away. 

Once again the electrical poles in Marshall were hung with free knitted scarves and hats, donated by the local church. A lovely gesture and I still have my scarf from a previous year.

Native Americans were performing dance routines with drumming and dancing in Winchester.

I caught Kevin having a snooze out in the web store warehouse at work and discussed with Boss Man how we could have fun with this image by Photoshopping it with an Isis tertorist. But then we thought maybe that was a bad idea due to the latest news in the US, and decided we would just stick with our usual racist and sexual harassment banter that we revel in among ourselves at work!

Mixing custom colors at work for Rawlings using base colors with glitters and clear coats with Jose Luis. Sending sample prints to them for their new line, hoping one we made will be a winner.

It was nice and mild when I got home from work and Kota took his time deciding which way we were going to go for our hike.

The lab where each month I pick up one of Kota’s medications. The original prescription was for a huge horse pill so this lab makes a tiny compact pill for me. The $40 monthly bill to make Kota’s twice a day pill popping a less stressful experience is well worth it.

Had to sneak a quick photo of this amazing cap while at the cinema with friends. I’ve never had a baseball cap that I really like but thanks to this lady, I’ve just ordered something similar.

Janice and I had a go on a Potter’s wheel this morning. This was the best bowl I could make after 3 attempts. We both agreed another go will be in the near future.

The dove of peace, a beautiful symbol and the theme of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in South Korea. I raced home after an evening with friends to catch the show. A stunning visual display.

I had to snap this while driving home, loving the many layers of textures in just one scene.

The rear view camera on Stanley this morning. With icicles hanging down. I shouldn’t have gone to work, I slid down some of the hill, very scary.

A Mazda 3 parked outside our work today and I spotted these high end wheels. I looked them up on line and discovered they can be about $400 each! I could get a really nice camera lens for that...

Freezing rain all day made it impossible to get off the hill. So all three of us enjoyed a lazy day in front of the wood stove, interrupted only by regular seed thrown out to the birds.

I came across a lamenting lake today. More will be explained in my Lucent Moments log later in the week.

The afternoon sun cast a gorgeous light and shadows  on the wood stove, and even though it highlighted the dust from the fires on my kettle, it actually added to the ambience. 

After a thorough inspection of the rear axles and tires, Kota then turned his attention to checking the front of Brandon’s huge trailer.
