I snapped a photo of this new LOVE sign in town just before it was moved and covered with tarps for the opening ceremony in the evening. Kind of like the way I framed the guy fixing the power cables too.

A fabulous Thanksgiving meal with friends, and this was the turkey soup cooking on the fire.

Wednesday, November 27, 2019

I passed by this well preserved mill today. Lantz Mill near Edinburg.

Front Royal is the Canoe Capital of Virginia so I found an old canoe paddle and painted it with a picture of me paddling in Big Red on the Shenandoah. It’s now hanging in the dining room.

Kelly Richmond Pope introducing her film in FroRo this afternoon, on the embezzlement of town funds by one woman in a small town near Chicago. A lot of our town showed up to watch it and the Q&A afterwards was very enlightening.

23 Nov 2019

Another superb evening with Brian. He beat me by 5 points at Scrabble but we used all the letters. We followed that with a visit to the Beer Museum and then the Brewery. The only damper was having to walk home in the rain but at least it wasn’t freezing.

Friday, November 22, 2019

Detective Sergeant Winner about to attack one of us in a 3 hour self defense class that FroRo’s Finest gave to a small group of local women. Even the Chief attended.. And we got a tour of their brand new station afterwards. I’ve never been a fan of police but these guys were amazingly down to earth, I instantly respected them. A huge assist to our little town.

Wednesday, November 20, 2019

It’s hard to believe that in just a week’s time we’ll be packing up the fall decorations and replacing them with Christmas ones. I love this display above my fireplace and am wondering if I should just sprinkle some artificial snow over it so it can look more wintery. I know, not really.

Tuesday, November 19, 2019

This heavy fog seems to get thicker and denser every day.

Monday, November 18, 2019

Even though I was late to work, I obviously got there ahead of a few others. The embroidery department was in darkness, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it this dark.

Sunday, November 17, 2019

I think I’ll give this yard sale a miss!

16 Nov 2019

I did a double take when I spotted my tradescantia leaves had developed a grid pattern, a shadow cast from my window screens.

Thursday, November 14, 2019

Waiting for Macbeth to begin at Shenandoah University Theatre. They just call it The Scottish Play because saying its real name there apparently brings a curse. The play was excellent.

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

A cold sun gave little warmth tonight on the way home as we got the first snow flakes of the season.

Monday, November 11, 2019

I finally managed to make myself part with the leftover Halloween candy. I dropped it off at the local fire station. Love their signs, they always make me smile on my way to work.

Sunday, November 10, 2019

All the pots emptied and stacked away, furniture under cover, ferns trimmed and brought indoors. The garden is now ready for winter. Already looking forward to seeing bulbs blooming next year.

9 Nov 2019

I woke up to discover that the night’s freezing temperatures had caused all the leaves on Kota’s ginkgo tree to drop. As I drove around town, I saw a few other ginkgo trees, all with golden puddles around their roots.

Friday, November 8, 2019

A chocolate dessert from a bakery near work. It looked much nicer than it tasted. Too bitter and not much flavor. Boo.

Thursday, November 7, 2019

I came across this beauty while running out for lunch today.

Wednesday, November 6, 2019

This Halloween display is still in a window on Main St. Halloween came and went way too fast...

Tuesday, November 5, 2019

Dinner with a friend and although I was starving I had to leave some fries. A crab cake and Virginia ham burger, it was delicious! Washed down with local craft beers.

Monday, November 4, 2019

Driving into FroRo after work, and the fall colors are still hanging on despite the heavy winds last week.

Sunday, November 3, 2019

It’s alright for some. Rosie Lee snoozed away the afternoon while I slogged outside planting nearly 300 bulbs and then squirrel proofed them. Hopefully.

2 Nov 2019

Enjoying a beer before we set off on our walking tour, Murder and Mayhem, with The Beer Museum.

Friday, November 1, 2019

Going to plant some bulbs this weekend so in spring I’ll hopefully have some pretty flowers. And they’re all deer resistant.
