Friday, June 26, 2026

As a young girl, my favourite book was The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge, and I love it as an adult too. And geraniums on my kitchen windowsill come from the book. AND, I’ve just discovered a film was made of it. Purchased on EBay for less than 2 quid.

Thursday, June 25, 2026

I love these old bridges in Stanhope quarry, that once had railway tracks running over them, carrying quarried rock and waste.

Wednesday, June 24, 2026

At the car wash. It’s tough sitting behind the glass with the sun blazing down, the engine off and no AC in the car. But the poor lads washing the cars have it the worst.

Tuesday, June 23, 2026

I managed to sell this chair today, to a neighbour. She’d been walking past it every day and even stroked it, she loved it that much. So happy it found a good home a few doors down!

My first attempt at felting. It’s not brilliant, but I’ve learned a lot about technique. There will be future efforts!

Monday, June 15, 2026

I saw this on a wall by a garden centre today. Assumed it wasn’t real, but laughed anyway.

A yew tree, despite having fallen down, sends out branches that have grown upwards.

Saturday, June 13, 2026

Having a go at taking a cutting from my geranium. Hoping it grows roots.

Thursday, June 11, 2026

A cold and rainy day today. Taken from my desk in the attic.

Wednesday, June 10, 2026

Down on Horden beach after work, watching storm clouds rolling in. We had another brief hailstorm an hour later.

Tuesday, June 9, 2026

The sun was shining, daisies blooming in the garden, yet we had another hailstorm. In June!

Monday, June 8, 2026

I saw these ‘cookies’ today, ice cream and matcha flavour. Made in China. How awful.

Sunday, June 7, 2026

This ‘cat’ ornament was a gift. Not very keen on it, and actually prefer its reflection on the wall to the real thing.

Crossing the causeway onto Lindisfarne just as the sea has receded.

I took a sneaky photo as Robin and I turned the lights on in the exam hall, first thing this morning.

Monday, June 1, 2026

Tricksie Treat is addicted to Springwatch, the same as Winterwatch. These are the only nature programmes that she watches avidly.

Visiting Gaping Gill today. This is how every visitor enters and leaves the cave.

Saturday, May 23, 2026

Down at Seaham today, and the beach was filled with people hunting for sea glass; it was like a rummage sale.

Friday, May 22, 2026

A beautiful, intricately carved Rosslyn Chapel, near Edinburgh, that Andy and I visited today.

Thursday, May 21, 2026

I was going to put some plants in this container, but it’s self seeded without my help, and is now growing honesty and California poppies. I’ll let it do its thing.
