A hefty watermelon that I picked up from the flea market today. I won’t be sharing it.

There are 2 baby doves in this photo. Both have been living here at the Blue House for the past couple of days.

Wednesday, August 28, 2024

I always enjoy driving past this house in town. I love the decorative details.

Monday, August 26, 2024

I’d read that snapdragon seed-heads look like ‘tortured souls’, so I went outside to look at mine. I’ll never see them any other way now!

Saturday, August 24, 2024

Spotted this gentleman at a flea market today wearing one of my old shirt designs. The back is an autumnal design of a rowing event. He said it’s one of his favorites, and wears it every weekend.

A hydroponic set up at the local cafe, where I treated myself to lunch today.

22 Aug 2024

Glen, the barman at the tavern tonight, was drawing this throughout the evening. Clever guy!

Tuesday, August 20, 2024

This raspberry bush was only planted this summer, but is still giving me delicious berries.

Monday, August 19, 2024

A lovely mural of a hiker admiring a sunset and the mountain laurel on the Skyline Drive at Vibressa Brewery, where we held our tree warden meeting tonight.

Sunday, August 18, 2024

Church Cat, or CC, as I call her. A friend feeds this stray in town every day, but is on vacation for a few days, so I was happy to step in. And so was CC. Wet and dry food, plus some treats for dessert.

Saturday, August 17, 2024

I locked these 2 young deers in the cemetery tonight. They’ll be safe in there and can shelter under the big trees.

Friday, August 16, 2024

These metal shades generated a lot of interest on the garden tour. Original to the house, they still operate perfectly and keep a lot of the midday sun from heating the house interior.

Thursday, August 15, 2024

The compass plants are busy with bees. There’s so many of them!

Wednesday, August 14, 2024

It felt like a tropical vibe was going on as I waited on the front porch for Peter to finished eating breakfast.

Tuesday, August 13, 2024

I finished the dining room table today after its third coat of beeswax. The first image shows where I’d tried sanding by hand. The original finish was getting tacky so I used an orbital sander, tack cloths, pre stain, then stain to match the rest of the table, then beeswax over 2 days. It took me over a week to complete, and I’m really pleased with the result!

Halloween decorations out already, and they get bigger every year.

Saturday, August 10, 2024

My back porch lit by the street lamp. Wonderfully cool after so much oppressive heat and humidity.

Friday, August 9, 2024

Beautiful flowers, balloons and choccies, a wonderful surprise from my bestie in England.

Thursday, August 8, 2024

The tropical storm, Debby, came up to us late on my Birthday yesterday, and today I went on the Skyline Drive to try and get photos above the clouds, with no luck. The rain clouds clung to the mountains creating a thick fog.

Wednesday, August 7, 2024

Peter showed up this morning for breakfast and hung out for a while enjoying the morning sun.

Tuesday, August 6, 2024

An early Birthday present from Mum. This should provide a few ‘laugh out loud’s.

Monday, August 5, 2024

Me and April enjoying my vodka peach slushy tradition, which I’ve been doing for over a decade. We had seconds!

Saturday, August 3, 2024

Urbexing with Richard and Eric on an abandoned campus. These were in one of the labs.

Friday, August 2, 2024

Another storm, but only 10 minutes long. I waited it out in the cemetery, up by the Soldiers Circle, rather than geting soaked opening and closing the gates.

Thursday, August 1, 2024

Treated myself to swordfish, first time I’ve had this. With new potatoes, asparagus and tomatoes. Delicious!
