The town hall in Ferryhill is beautifully decorated for Remembrance Day.

 A casual saunter this morning through the fields around Ushaw.

 Lovely homegrown parsnips from a friend. Made into soup with Parmesan cheese and garlic bread. Yum!

 I love these woods at Hamsterley Forest. They look almost unworldly, as though an elf or mystical creature could silently step out from their shadowy depths.

 Velvet Shank, or Winter Mushroom, so called as able to withstand freezing temperatures.

 We walked a loop from Allensford to Castleside this morning. Really windy but beautiful scenery.
