These trout fishing flies were given to me by my dad. I loved fly fishing in England but don’t have any equipment here, so I think I’ll shadow box these and put them on a wall.

Wednesday, March 29, 2023

I made quite a few of these markers for the veggie garden. The broccoli one makes me laugh, it looks like ‘brooooli’.

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

Gorgeous sunrise as I drive along the flyover to Rte 28 this morning.

Monday, March 27, 2023

My witch hazel is in full bloom and looking great after it’s spring pruning. Once the garden tour is over, I’m going to research how to use all the medicinal plants I have so I can make oils, soaps and lotions.

Sunday, March 26, 2023

If I ever had to run from the house during a house fire, or similar, and only had time to grab one ornament, it would be this bunny shelf. I often stand and stare at it, I love it.

Saturday, March 25, 2023

Rain clouds clinging on to the mountains, looking down the Shenandoah River, south fork, crossing the bridge into Front Royal.

Friday, March 24, 2023

Stuck in traffic on Rte 66, but it gave me a chance to snap a photo of these beautiful daffodils in full bloom. I look out for these every year.

Thursday, March 23, 2023

I’m guessing these folk are quite chuffed with their house number, with those larger than life numbers.

Wednesday, March 22, 2023

A snuggly wuggly Rosie Lee on my lap as I read my book this evening.

Monday, March 20, 2023

The starlings love the suet I hang out for them. There can be 5 birds squabbling on this block at one time. And then even clean up what they drop down below.

Sunday, March 19, 2023

Chatted with Mum for over 2 hours today as it’s Mother’s Day in England. She sent me this beautiful card a few months ago, saying it made her think of me and Kota, (looks more like Rosie Lee though), when we eventually meet up again one day. I found the perfect frame for it.

Saturday, March 18, 2023

The composter is assembled and ready to be filled with soil, plants and worms, but that has to wait until the caravan’s painted, once the weather’s a little warmer.

Friday, March 17, 2023

Our St Patrick’s Day meal, which wasn’t particularly great. The first time I’ve been given boiled Polish kielbasa as ‘bangers’! Elliott’s shepherds pie wasn’t memorable either. But the beer was great!

Thursday, March 16, 2023

A beautiful dawn sky, but as usual, stuck in traffic on Rte 66 on my way to work.

Wednesday, March 15, 2023

Malcolm dozing on the bed with Rosie Lee. She’s the bump under the fluffy throw.

14 Mar 2023

The Bradford pear trees look glorious with their blossoms in full bloom. They’re an invasive species, but at least these don’t seem to be spreading.

Monday, March 13, 2023

Poor Stanley getting towed to hospital where it was determined he had a blown head gasket. Not sure what the outcome will be, I’m so upset.

Sunday, March 12, 2023

And yet more car issues. We had to stop because Stanley was overheating, yet couldn’t see anything dreadful under the hood. He will be towed to the dealership tomorrow. This is the 4th breakdown issue this year. My credit cards are not happy…

Saturday, March 11, 2023

Malcolm checking out a few pages of my book. But he really prefers cat-alogs.

Friday, March 10, 2023

One of the bunnies in my bathroom, dozing on a high shelf.

Thursday, March 9, 2023

I took a CPR, AED and first aid class this evening. Couldn’t believe how much I learned, and actually how much I remembered from when I was a firefighter. Excellent class and we get a certificate.

Wednesday, March 8, 2023

Malcolm behind bars in the cat carrier as we go to the vets for his annual exam and shots. Despite his being very annoyed at being caged, he behaved impeccably during his visit, with the doctor saying, he was magnificent. Well done, Malcolm!

Tuesday, March 7, 2023

The gorgeous magnolia in the cemetery is in full bloom. Just hope the cold temperatures that are moving in don’t destroy the blooms.

Monday, March 6, 2023

My new ‘cheap as chips’ watering can, shaped like a milk churn! It was love at first sight! This will hang out in the vegetable garden once I’ve fenced it in.

Sunday, March 5, 2023

The aconite bulbs I planted  a few months ago have come up. A little late but they’ll be up earlier next year. They’ll spread throughout the lawn providing the first color of the year, yet will be gone by the time the grass needs moving.

Saturday, March 4, 2023

Me taking a photo of an emblem at the Zembo shrine in Harrisburg, PA.

Thursday, March 2, 2023

Had a peek at my first batch of winter sowing containers. So excited!

Wednesday, March 1, 2023

Film spread out over the exposure unit, ready to be burned onto screens for printing.
