Elliott and I went on a garden tour today. At one of them we fell in love with this clematis, Gravetye Beauty.

Driving into the sun and towards work. I found out today my commute is 57 miles each way. Out of everyone at work I drive the furthest.

Fathers Day for Elliott’s dad and his brother, Roger.

1.5 hour commute to work this morning as an accident had occurred on 66. I never get annoyed at the hold up, am always grateful it wasn’t me, and hope those involved weren’t hurt.

A lady crashed her car into a flooring store, right next to our showroom. Luckily, no injuries. Felt a little bad that her accident meant a welcome break from work for us.

Elliott and I spent 2 hours today, removing an old fan and installing a new one. A first for both of us and it works beautifully. 

Waiting for Elliott to come upstairs and start the movie, Moulin Rouge, but there’s some t-shirts, designated for the ceiling, to be removed from the tv screen.

Saw this in the parking lot, and, at first glance, thought it was an alien from the movie, The Martians.

 

Elliott has almost completely cleared the ivy that flowed over the fence and over these flower beds. A few hours work of us pulling roots today and planting a few perennials has the side of the garden looking so much better. 

At the plant sale today we managed to get up close and personal with some of the Brood X cicadas. They were flying everywhere but this chap stopped to say hello.

Very obviously saying, “What?” Rosie Lee had Elliott and I worried sick, thinking she’d escaped and was roaming the streets. She didn’t come when called, numerous times. We’d searched every nook and cranny of the house with flashlights, plus gone out driving, looking for her. 3 hours later, she appeared in the house, and we have no idea where she had been hiding. But we’re so glad she’s safe, even if she is a very naughty girl. And yes, she got treats. And cuddles.

Outside work we have sparrow, grackle, and here, starling families hopping about, the babies nearing independence as they grow as large as their parents.
