Watching Space X launch successfully for the first time. An epic moment.

Friday, May 29, 2020

A train derailed just outside of FroRo this morning. Nobody was hurt and most of the cars were empty. The top image is a drone shot from a local and I took the second. As close as I could get to it.

Leaving town for work with clouds ganging low after a heavy rain.

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

A shoutout to essential workers from a house in Marshall.

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

I brought a box of sanitizer bottles home that needed labeling for a client. Got the whole lot completed while on the phone to Mum wishing her Happy Birthday.

Monday, May 25, 2020

Remembering the soldiers at the cemetery next to my house. Flags leading up to the Mosby’s men memorial.

Sunday, May 24, 2020

While on our urbexing group Zoom meeting tonight, Margie posted this photo of me many moons ago in a tub inside an abandoned asylum. Happy days!

Saturday, May 23, 2020

Add flour and chocolate chips and it becomes a banana choc chip loaf!

Friday, May 22, 2020

A beautiful abandoned house in Boyce as I passed through today.

Thursday, May 21, 2020

Spent the whole evening chatting with two friends on the phone while demolishing a bottle of red wine. Cheers!

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

I keep seeing these post vans being towed. I’m guessing their charge runs out. Just like a toy truck, which these always remind me of.

17 May 2020

Tired of Chonk the Groundhog decimating my veggie crops, I ran 2 lines of barbed wire along the base of my wooden fence, hoping it will deter him from burrowing. If this fails I’ll have to give up planting food crops.

A thoughtfully decorated pot of pens for clients in a local post office amazed me. Usually pens and packing tape are rarely offered but today I saw both. This pandemic is certainly making people kinder.

We’re selling PPE products that our clients can have their logos printed in. Yours truly, and other staff members, were the models. Ha!

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

My beautiful purple sage and ferns growing above the pond.

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

I pass this yellow ribbon every day commuting to work and it always made me think of the song Tie a Yellow Ribbon by Dawn. But I researched it today and discovered that it means either ‘bring our troops home’ from Desert Storm, or it signifies suicide awareness. So now, instead of feeling happy when I see it, I feel sad.

Monday, May 11, 2020

A guy in one of my Facebook requests had asked for a George Washington duck, (yes, they exist), to be placed on the shoulders of the first president. Nobody had obliged so I gave it a go. He was stoked!

Saturday, May 9, 2020

I drove all over FroRo before finally catching up with our ice cream store who had decided to run a small parade around town to cheer folks up. I stood in the blustery wind as they drove by, thanking them all and waving. I got beads and a fluffy rhino thrown at me.

Friday, May 8, 2020

I got caught in a downpour as I covered my fragile plants from the 29F freeze that’s coming tonight and tomorrow. This has to be the last freeze this spring.

Thursday, May 7, 2020

This was the first time I’ve seen up close the nest of the Tent Caterpillar. They’re regarded as pests but I’m sure are a valuable food source for birds who need protein for their young. The nest was very strong and I had to admire the sheen of the fine fibers used to spin this home. There are only eggs inside currently but Even those may be tasty to birds or bigger insects. The nest was about 12” long.

Tuesday, May 5, 2020

I don’t know if there’s a story behind the gate colors, but it caught my eye, with the field of buttercups behind it.

Monday, May 4, 2020

The back garden is slowly coming to life. A few pots have been filled and seeds planted.

Sunday, May 3, 2020

This doesn’t look remotely comfortable but Rosie Lee managed to sleep and purr like this for an hour.

Saturday, May 2, 2020

At the local garden center for potting compost, and the mask protocol is being taken very seriously.

31 Apr 2020

Chicken for dinner with leftover brussels, tomatoes and mushrooms, and a superb local beer that I found in the fridge. I’d forgotten all about it.

I had to pass this on the way to work this morning. It was humongous and barely fit on its trailer. Look how the tires are hanging off the edge!
