Rosie Lee in a playful mood after a big dinner. Funny how food always makes you feel happy!

A blurred photo that I can't go back and retake because the subject no longer exists! I was excited to find Australian lamb cutlets which tasted just like English lamb. American lamb is horrendous. Served with green beans, sweet potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes with sour cream, garlic and lots of rosemary, this plate was soon cleaned. And I have enough for dinner tomorrow night. Hoorah!!

Picked from the trees yesterday, my peaches bask in the afternoon sun, separated from each other so they don't bruise. I have a few days of peachy bliss ahead of me.

I picked blueberries for the first time today. They didn't all make it home:)

Joining in again with the wonderful Polish people, this time for Wianki, The Festival of Wreaths, down in DC by The Reflecting Pool.

Amissville Carnival. I dropped by since it's close and for a small village, it was hopping.

My view from the floor, where I'm resting my poor back which Dr Carl manipulated rather heavily. Only soreness now, and that will be fine tomorrow. Kota did show a little empathy even if it was just for a second. 

The lillies by the barn are stunning, blooming in full glory, but mine by the patio are still in bud. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer for those.

A fabulous evening watching America perform again. I love this band, one of my top favorites.

It must have been Bianchi Day today on our bike ride. I parked my vintage bike next to a newer model at a coffee shop in Herndon and then later stopped to chat to another proud older Bianchi owner. They certainly stand out!

"You lookin' at me?". One of the chickens  who contributed to my dozen eggs that I picked up from the farm today.

I love my little secluded patio. Heaven to sit out on and enjoy the peace. Even while writing this I can hear the deers in the trees behind me.

I stopped on the way home from work to photograph a beautiful patch of wild flowers in Middleburg.

I think Rosie Lee needs an early night.

After our bike ride we stopped for beers and lunch. I thought a Humminhbird Tomato Salad sounded refreshing but was a little disappointed to revive this, a plate with chopped tomatoes on one side and ricotta cheese smeared on the other. It was OK.

My portable gas grill finally arrived and of course Kota immediately took residence in the box. Which also had a nice polystyrene base, encouraging a longer stay than normal.

So to encourage less sitting and more movement I traded in my 30 year old wooden desk for a new glass topped version, one that can alter it's height at the press of a button. Hopefully I'll stand more than sit at my work in future.

I was happy to see these two youngsters as I came up the hill this evening. I saw them frequently with Mom earlier this year. It looks like they're on their own now but they look healthy. Glad to see they stay on the hill and away from the roads.

My new grill has finally arrived, but why is there always 'some assembly required'? Grrr!

This beautiful lavender outside my front door is growing it's best since I've been here. I'm hoping it's a good omen for my other plants, flowering and veggies.

Making soup for work lunches with local grown chinese cabbage, shredded sweet potato, carrots and beans. The chicken broth came from Marshall's organic Gentle Harvest store. It smells amazing.

Bikes and beers, the best things for a sunny Saturday!

How horrendously tacky. I actually felt sorry for the plants.

So happy, everything in my little plot that was planted is growing! All my seeds are sprouting. Beetroot, onions, peas, beans, squash, cucumber and potatoes. I haven't noticed the dill seeds growing around the outside of the fence yet but they were old so I'll get some new ones.
