The patio is still completely disorganized but the front of my new screened area is looking more presentable. Boston ferns have been reported and a few annuals are in pits. Still lots of work ahead!

My first trip to DeBaggio's, to buy cilantro, basils, peppers and tomatoes, all organic. I'll be back, got a lot of pots to fill.

Very excited about my area behind the barn that will be my planting plot. Just waiting for landscaping guy to finish clearing it and then I can take over. But I may do it myself, I'm so eager to start.

A wet and miserable Earth Day but Richard and I turned up to clean the banks of the Anocostia River in DC. Not quite sure why the Army were there as we turned up a few minutes late but it's always great to see the military. There were only about 40 of us but hopefully we bade a difference. Richard and I certainly filled a lot of bags. 

These dogwood flowers make me so happy. We have quite a few of these trees in the meadows and the bright fresh blooms give off a wonderful fragrance.

Finally reclaimed some space in my bedroom by finding this bike rack nearby for $20. Money well spent!

Rain today and forecast for the next 5 days. No gardening or cycling for me then this weekend. Boo!

Loved all these lines in the sky and on the road as I neared work this morning.

It's all quiet on the hill early this morning, I'm the only one enjoying the first light.

Scouting out and about with friends for the day, finding this cool old house as the sun was starting to set.

After 5 years my shutter screens have disintegrated but I repurposed the slats and started making a new screen. Hoping it will last a few years.

So happy to see the dogwoods again, although that late ice has reduced the amount of flowers.

I was the first customer at The Farm Brewery this afternoon, meeting the owner and getting a free shirt. The beers went down well too.

A super fun evening with Margie and Jason at the Bike Party event. Cycling around DC following loud music and clouds of cherry vanilla vape with singing and cheering. Lots of happy people, loved it!

At the end of the W&OD trail in Purcellville before we rode the 10 miles back to Leesburg. Kind of hard having to pass by the sign for Corcoran Brewery though without taking a quick detour.

Absolutely loving how easy it is to stow my bikes now. No worries about them getting wet or stolen, and no straps. Bliss!

Torrential rain with hail and tornado warnings at work today. We thought the too was going to be ripped off, the storm was so loud and ferocious.

The old abandoned Marshall nursing home that I was unsuccessful at entering has now been demolished. This peaceful plot of land will become a cluster of ugly new houses later this year.

First wear for the bike helmet this year, something I usually forgo, but the group I was with tonight insisted on it. We managed just under 20 miles, 10 of them against a strong head wind and getting back just before sunset.

A lovely discovery in my mail box when I got home. And the photo was on the cover too.

An interesting find on my travels today. I had to stop and take a closer look.

A new place to explore today, an abandonment discovered by another who wouldn't divulge its location. But we found it.
