Mum ad I went shopping today. Saw these wonderfully colored irons. Kettles, microwaves and toasters were also in lovely hues. I think America sometimes does a red alongside the boring black or whites...

We went back to Syd's Island one last time before heading back to Dorset and I managed to grab a couple of shots of the Yorskshire sheep. Because it was so windy I had walked right up to this one who had his head down grazing before he spotted me and leapt away.

Mum and I today scattered Dad's ashes on this little island in the middle of the North Yorkshire Moors. He always called it Syd's Island and requested this as his final destination. I laid a brick in the ground with 'Syd's Island' engraved on it.

Beautiful brickwork on a church in Leeds as we passed through on our way to North Yorkshire.

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Loved the bunting in this dear little village, Burley, in the New Forest.

Monday, April 25, 2016

I've always loved these beautiful pine trees outside Mum's house, far taller than any I've seen in Virginia.

Sunday, April 24, 2016

Our Sunday lunch, roast beef with all the trimmings and the veggies were all fresh. Delicious!

Saturday, April 23, 2016

Mum and I fell about laughing over this bumper sticker on the car in front of us.

Friday, April 22, 2016

Glad to be flying home on Miss England. The down side is I'm next to a guy who keeps coughing.
Edit, have moved up to where I now have window seat and vacant seat next to me. Oh joy!

Thursday, April 21, 2016

I printed a last shirt on the DTG machine at work before I left today. It's Clara from Dr Who when she became a dalek. The white ink is showing at the bottom and the colors are laid down left to right over the top. It came out well.

Trying out a new hair style and color for my trip to England!

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

Pretty flowers by the mail box as I stopped on the way home from my last dig at our allotment before I head to England. I unearthed a big black snake while I was there, and left him in peace. I'd like him to stay and keep the bugs from our crops when we start planting.

Monday, April 18, 2016

I liked the reflection of this glass next to the sink with the afternoon sun shining through it.

Sunday, April 17, 2016

I met a photo group down near Williamsburg today to photograph a collection of presidential busts. Full story and more photos on Lucent Moments later in the week.

Saturday, April 16, 2016

Beers and burgers with Janice and Bill at a local biker tavern on a lovely balmy spring evening.

Friday, April 15, 2016

I've been meaning to stop and photograph this pond for ages. It's a beautiful setting but to the right of me heavy traffic thunders towards DC on Rte 50. Not as idyllic as the scene implies.

Thursday, April 14, 2016

Another session at the garden and I think I've dug up nearly half of our plot now. We should hopefully have it finished on Saturday!

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Lovely to see the first dogwood flower at Meadow House.

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

Today after work I cleared and started digging the garden plot that Bill and I are sharing.  At the end I had saved an Aaron's Rod and a small thyme plant, and then also had 2 grackles plus a red wing blackbird yelling at me to leave so they could check out the freshly turned earth for worms. I did as I was told! But I'd made a good start I thought.

Monday, April 11, 2016

And having just finished Stephen King's 'Full Dark, No Stars', I'll jump straight into this, the biography of Charlie Chaplin by Joyce Milton.

Sunday, April 10, 2016

One of the little waterfalls on the Little Devil's Staircase hike that Sandra and I completed today.  It was perfect hiking and rock scrambling weather!

Saturday, April 9, 2016

A beautiful white sycamore tree that I passed running errands today. These are my favorite American trees, followed closely by cedars.

Friday, April 8, 2016

The sunrise set the sky alight this morning driving through Middleburg. It really looked like there was a fire on the horizon.

Thursday, April 7, 2016

I think I can only squeeze a few more pennies in here. And then where do I put them?

Wednesday, April 6, 2016

I'm getting addicted to these salads from Subway, they are delicious!

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

This messy patch of ground is going to be Bill's and mine garden plot at the community garden area at Blandy. We have a lot of work ahead.

Monday, April 4, 2016

Beautiful lighting as the storm approaches. Due to have a freeze tonight too.

Sunday, April 3, 2016

Enjoying my first ice cream of the year at Warrenton's Carousel. It was busy despite the cold strong winds.

Saturday, April 2, 2016

Checking out the light show at Baltimore on a wet and windy night.

Friday, April 1, 2016

Sitting by the pond at Blandy listening to the birds and peepers.
