I love looking at all the Halloween stuff in the stores, and have to admit that I'm quite proud I've resisted buying anything.

Cute hunt foxes in My chiropractor's office, a present from a patient.

I stopped at the new Red Truck Bakery & Cafe in Marshall on my way home to grab dinner, which would be a delicious spicy South West Chicken Soup with sour dough bread. The bakery featured in Travel & Leisure yesterday: 'Baker and owner Brian Noyes turns out award-winning pastries, including a head-spinning chocolate moonshine cake, salted caramel apple pie, and a goodie-packed granola that Andrew Zimmern declared the best in North America'. 

I can vouch for the apple pie but it sounds like I have some serious tasting to do. Oh my poor diet!

Rosie Lee wasn't too sure of her bandana and soon managed to lose it. But she was an excellent guard cat a couple of hours later when she growled very loudly at the French doors and then hurtled out of the cat flap to see off whoever was out there. She returned to a big handful of treats a few minutes later and lots of praise.

Men in Middleburg were taking down the flags that were raised for Labor Day. Waiting to see if anything's raised in their place.

A sweet little piggie at a farm shop near home. There was very little produce to buy the the animals were gorgeous and worth the visit. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for cuddles as I had perishables in the car, but next time...

Dear little Kota knew he was going to the vets for his check up. He's always so badly behaved that this time he had some medicine to make him groggy. As soon as he felt a little woozy he climbed into his carrier. The appointment went smoothly but I had to hang around with him for the rest of the day as he took a while to get back to normal.

Poor little mouse that Rosie Lee caught. I hope it was a quick death. I'm trying to teach her not to do thi but it will take time. Kota has learned not to catch anything, he will just watch them, good boy.

Loved seeing this when I fueled up this morning. Haven't seen it this low in years. Oh thank heaven!

Myself and Sam Manicom, an English motorcycle adventurer, who visited us at work to see the DTG printer working. His books have got wonderful reviews, I said he was a Bill Bryson on 2 wheels, a compliment which I think he was quite pleased with!

On my way home from work through the construction area I sw this on the side of the road. It made me think of a bus shelter from The Flintstones!

One of the last fields in Chantilly, a turf farm that's just been harvested. I wonder how long it will be before ugly new houses crip up on this land?

The first sign of fall approaching. These guys always appear when folks start collecting firewood by their houses.
