A vegetarian dinner tonight, corn on the cobb, tomatoes, new potatoes and of course coarse sea salt and freshly ground butter with a dollop of Irish butter. And of course the veggies were local.

One of the hulks at Mallows Bay exposed by low tide and covered in weed.

Being a Harry Potter fan I really got a kick out of seeing this today.

Thursday, August 27, 2015

Our new automatic press in the foreground and our other in the background are dormant tonight, ready to ramp up early in the morning.

Fungi growing on a tree stump on my patio, looking like the open mouth of a monster.

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

I kind of liked this photo as it's hard to know what's going on. It looks like the bear is being knocked over by the car but why all the colored chairs placed in front of a bear? Answer, Bare Naked Furniture. But any passer by who just glimpsed at this scene must have thought 'WTF?'

Took a day off work to introduce Steve to kayaking at Fountainhead Park. He did great!

I love this smiley board in the middle of Marshall. Someone drew it soon after I moved here but I bet it won't be around much longer with all the new developments in the town. Shame, I'll miss it.

Emily setting up her photo of her flight of beers at the Jailbreak Brewery in Kaurel, MD. Serious business!

Thursday, August 20, 2015

A wonderful selection of artisan breads from my client at work, Firehook Bakery. I eventually chose the rosemary bread to go with my liver wurst and horseradish sauce tonight.

Wednesday, August 19, 2015

Wonderful storm clouds rolling over Rte 50 as I headed home but no storm in Marshall, just distant thunder and grey skies.

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

I suspect this beautiful old house is slated for demolition before too long. It's surrounded by a mass of cheap new housing that will somehow consider this to be the eye sore and want it removed. I hope someone can restore it. I noticed a juvenile turkey vulture on the roof, grooming himself, blissfully ignorant of the chaos surrounding him.

For Leaky, God bless you. Another star went out in my sky.

Saturday, August 15, 2015

The reflection in my camera lens at Clarke County Fair tonight.

Friday, August 14, 2015

Red Truck Bakery from Warrenton is moving its headquarters to bigger premises in Marshall in Old Salem Cafe's building. They hope to open in September so I'm looking forward to see if they'll produce organic products.

Thursday, August 13, 2015

I like to keep my desk top printer at work well stocked with ink.

Wednesday, August 11, 2015

The old Post Office building in Marshall has been renovated for the imminent return of The Whole Ox, a butchers shop. There was a tiny piece of paper in the window telling of a super secret get together on 5/30, so secret that I missed it.

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

I attended a bee keeping class tonight in Warrenton. Apparently there isn't a shortage of bees as the media implies but there has been a reduction in bumble bees. There are many other bee species, most of them ground dwellers. I'm not sure if I want to take this route as pests and disease can be time consuming to keep at bay, the loss of a hive would upset me, but I'm going to research some more.

Saw these on the side of the road on the way home. I took the two smaller ones. How kind!

A photo prop at the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover, DE.

Cape Henlopen, DE, just before sunset. Spending a long weekend taking photos with Bill.

Thursday, August 6, 2015

What a lovely name for a house. It must be wonderful to pull into the driveway and read this every time.

Tuesday, August 4, 2015

A sign of the times as I followed a tractor on the way home, he's chatting in his cell phone.

Monday, August 3, 2015

My first crop of organic tatties, and there's still more to dig up!

Sunday, August 2, 2015

The best Bloody Mary I've ever had. It went well with our breakfast at Miss Shirley's Cafe in Baltimore.

Saturday, August 1, 2015

A little fan held aloft at the Orioles' game in Baltimore tonight.
