This spider's been living here for over a week. He hung tight during the storm this afternoon and had spun a shiny new web within an hour of it finishing.

I'm very sad to report that I hit a deer on my way to work this morning. It got up OK and then tottered into the woods. It was dark so I couldn't see where it went but I went back twice today and looked around the area, very thankful that I didn't find it. Stuart didn't fare so well as Rosie Lee models in front of his new dent. But as far as I'm concerned, rather a dented car than a dead deer.

I'm currently keeping this dried corn husk on my bathroom shelf as a 'back up' for guests. Apparently they used to be used as toilet roll! It's surprisingly soft...

I have never enjoyed pancakes or waffles but tonight I made a pancake with my locally ground buckwheat flour. A good dollop of English blackcurrant jam completed my meal. It was delicious, a completely different taste from regular packet mix pancakes!

Spent an enjoyable few minutes this morning before I went out making cards for a couple of friends. I used to so this a lot in England and it was fun getting the art supplies out again.

Chey and Sofia found a load of old voting stations had been dumped out back at work so promptly set one up in my office. Hope they voted for me!

My lovely boston ferns will be happy tonight and tomorrow. Lots of rain and humidity are forecast. They're growing so fast I'm concerned I may need to repot some before the winter. Really trying to avoid that...

My scrumptious dinner tonight. Local grown beef and salad with home grown potatoes washed down with a locally brewed beer. Yum!

Spent a very interesting evening learning about how to photograph orbs and other phenomenons. I had been very skeptical at first but now my curiosity has been awoken. I'll be going on a walk in a couple of weeks with a group to see if I can capture any of my own.

Had a wonderful afternoon off going to the movies and then dinner with old friends, then got home to open this card from my bestest friend in the whole wide world, dear Boo. We've been besties for over 30 years and there's never been a pal like her. Lovely way to finish my Birthday!

Fishing lures that I pulled out of the lake today, and some fishing line that I pulled down from a tree went into a recycling bin.

The cats kept me company while I spent the day resting my knee with it propped up on cushions. Little Rosie Lee laid right next to me while Kota Kat looked down from the back of the sofa.

Placing a load of roach traps around the production area. Boss Man was grossed out when he stayed late the night before and saw a million of them scatter when he turned the lights on in production. LOL!
