A pretty sad presentation for storm preparations at the Home Depot. They only suggested water and various light solutions. No whistles, tools, maps, batteries, plastic sheeting and a bunch of other stuff I could think of. 

Had a wonderful evening after work with British friends at a farm where we ate organic food, drank beer and wine, and watched sheep being sheared. Most of my friends have cats or dogs but Ann and Robert have a lamb who thinks she's a dog. Meet Lady Georgiana.

Another rainy day at Meadow House but the honeysuckle smells wonderful in the damp air, especially through the bathroom window.

These two bottles of red wine have been sitting on a shelf at work for way too long. Trying to pluck up the courage to take them home, drink them, then just put back the empty bottles....

Hmmm, lots of wood brought home from work. What shall I do with it? Watch this space!

An afternoon spent in the garden, and splitting my huge boston ferns was one of my jobs.

The production area is empty at 3pm. Everyone had to leave because we were all stuffed and drowsy after our free lunch of the best papusas ever, delivered by a happy client! Or maybe it's just because it's a holiday weekend!

Finally getting my patio sorted out out and ready for potting plants this weekend . I had to move some tree trunks and disrupted an ants' nest. It was pretty cool watching how they 'packed up' and moved everything, and the speed at which they did it.

Absolutely humongously massive pineapple I bought at the IGA today. The biggest I've ever seen! Will be taken to work tomorrow in chunks and dipped in yoghurt. Yum!

Being so sick that I had to cancel all plans was a positive thing for Rosie Lee. She was ecstatic that I stayed home all day.

First time I've seen a cross profile of a new road, showing large and small gravel and 4 layers of tarmac. This was in Chantilly on Rte 50. Won't be any potholes in this for a while!

A business opposite us has been continuously taking our parking spaces, and today 2 of our guys revolted by blocking in their vehicles. It worked, and a few of the cars were moved.

Because I left for work a little later than usual it took me 2 1/4 hours to travel under 30 miles. The joys of NoVA traffic. I took these images along the route which although was very slow was, for the most part, pretty.
