A view through the kitchen window. We didn't get the multiple inches we'd been expecting but a lot of it has been blown into drifts. It's going to continue through the night and the winds are ferocious. Really living the wood stove tonight.

This beautiful sunset is the calm before the storm as we await snow and freezing temperatures tomorrow. The supermarket in Marshall was like Armgeddan and while we stood in line a firefighter from The Plains told us we were getting 9-11" with the mountains getting over a foot. Gulp!!!!

DC Urban Exploration group met at the Marlboro Gallery at Prince George's Community College, MD, today to hang our photos. The exhibition runs from Jan 21 - Feb 27, reception night is Feb 6, 6-8pm.

I was suddenly aware, after having been back at work for a week, that I didn't have a 2014 calendar, so I quickly knocked one up using my photos of Meadow House and got it printed. I love it!

Sweet breads and veal hearts. Yuk! But I do like a nice kidney or liver. Lots of fresh unprocessed local meats at our IGA, just can't handle these...

Mum's presents finally arrived but of course they were well worth waiting for. So nice to sit and unwrap them in front of the fire while the snow falls outside and the night falls. This is some of the pretty English wrapping paper but Mum's an avid Sellotape fan so I was unable to save the sheet!
