Look who we made an award for? Yay, so cool!

One thing I love about my hour long commute to work is the chance to listen to audio books. I've listened to so many now, mostly donated by my kind friend Margie. I've heard Madonna's biography, learned about a soldier's war time suffering, Stephen Hawking's theories on the universe, understood how dangerous The Great Influenza was, or simply just got lost in some great fiction. I look forward to my drives to and from work!

For some reason there are people out there who thinks it's cool to use a plug in hand set for their smart phones. Evidently I'm not one of those people but it would seem that my boss is!

A classic example of 'you only get what you pay for'. I've designed an award medallion for a client and have a firm image in my mind of how it should look. I'd been encouraged to check out Chinese vendors but was disgusted at their lack of quality in manufacturing and finishing. I found a vendor here in the States who could produce the results I wanted but I then had to persuade the client to go with the higher cost. Their samples arrived today and one of them is shown here next to the Asian effort. Game over!

I tried chicken feet a couple of years ago and nearly gagged. I really couldn't believe that I was seeing these in the Marshall IGA.

With the trees bare of leaves I managed to glimpse this building as I drove through Marshall, and after a closer look I discovered that it's an abandoned senior care center. Will have to check this out a little further.
