This raspberry bush was only planted this summer, but is still giving me delicious berries.

Church Cat, or CC, as I call her. A friend feeds this stray in town every day, but is on vacation for a few days, so I was happy to step in. And so was CC. Wet and dry food, plus some treats for dessert.

I locked these 2 young deers in the cemetery tonight. They’ll be safe in there and can shelter under the big trees.

These metal shades generated a lot of interest on the garden tour. Original to the house, they still operate perfectly and keep a lot of the midday sun from heating the house interior.

The compass plants are busy with bees. There’s so many of them!

It felt like a tropical vibe was going on as I waited on the front porch for Peter to finished eating breakfast.

I finished the dining room table today after its third coat of beeswax. The first image shows where I’d tried sanding by hand. The original finish was getting tacky so I used an orbital sander, tack cloths, pre stain, then stain to match the rest of the table, then beeswax over 2 days. It took me over a week to complete, and I’m really pleased with the result!

The tropical storm, Debby, came up to us late on my Birthday yesterday, and today I went on the Skyline Drive to try and get photos above the clouds, with no luck. The rain clouds clung to the mountains creating a thick fog. 

Peter showed up this morning for breakfast and hung out for a while enjoying the morning sun.

An early Birthday present from Mum. This should provide a few ‘laugh out loud’s.

Another storm, but only 10 minutes long. I waited it out in the cemetery, up by the Soldiers Circle, rather than geting soaked opening and closing the gates.

Treated myself to swordfish, first time I’ve had this. With new potatoes, asparagus and tomatoes. Delicious!
